Julie Combal is a practicing artist and art therapist in New York.
Both disciplines inform her body of work through their social and aesthetic structures, with their focus on the relationship between humans and nature. She represents this relationship through drawing, painting, sculpture and performance; at times using pollution itself as the medium.

Currently I am working on a series of abstract oil paintings inspired by my site specific work along the banks of polluted waterways.
Compositions of the works develop from the exploration of various polluted waterways in New York and Mexico; where I create artwork developed from community interviews and the pollution itself.
