Las Mujeres Bonitas Espero Que Lo Arreglen El Río
‘The beautiful Women Hope The River is Fixed’
is a series of figures created from polluted mud from the Atoyac River and inspired by ancient Mexican fertility figures called 'Mujeres Bonitas'.
Wishes from the community were written on amate paper and inserted into the sculptures.
The final stage of the project was to offer the Mujeres Bonitas sculptures back to the river to so that it may absorb the figures of fertility and the hopes of the community.
