KnickerPrints
The Kinckerprint series was created in a paper lithography workshop a couple years back. In some previous studio works, I had been exploring the abstract shapes plastic bags could form on the canvas. Since I live in a rather industrial area of Brooklyn, there are bags caught in trees everywhere. There is a particular tree on my walk from the subway to my studio that seems to be the best bag catcher of all, and I find it both beautiful and sad. I dediced to use this workshop as an opportunity to explore the forms the bags could make on a 2 dimensional level. Also the term Knickerprints comes from 'Witches Knickers' a term for the bags caught in trees.
